Athletic Republic’s certified performance trainers have the passion and sports-science knowledge to safely improve your athleticism. Our more than 500 performance trainers are constantly furthering our proven methods to help athletes reach their goals.  Because we believe developing athletes is best done in small groups, we provide a trainer to athlete ratio of 1:5.  This allows the trainer to customize a program for each athlete’s individual strengths and weaknesses.


After starting out as a physical education teacher, Mike harnessed his love of sports and fitness as owner of Body and Sole Fitness, providing personal training for clients from professional athletes to stay-at-home moms; from youth and college athletes to adults managing chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.


Alex brings over 8 years of hockey, high performance athletic and personal training experience to our team.  He specializes in hockey performance, including hockey treadmill training as well as TRX. He received his exercise science degree from Youngstown State University and has played hockey throughout his life.  Alex believes that it is important to fit fitness into your life.Alex played AAA Junior hockey with the Chicago Mission for 2 years, followed by one year of Junior Hockey with the Chicago Force.  Alex wanted to go to college to pursue his degree in Exercise Science.  As a result, Alex attended Youngstown State University from 2008 -2012.  During his time at YSU, he was a Member and Captain of the YSU ACHA Hockey team for all four years.  In the 2011-2012 season Alex was selected and played for the College Hockey Mid-America 1st All Conference Team.
