Cardio Routines Don't Have to Be Boring

If you find yourself becoming bored and distracted when it comes time of cardio training, then you're not alone. With the seeming repetition and minimal options, it can feel like you will be stuck on the treadmill forever. If this is you, Athletic Republic, Wexford has put together a quick list of ways to revitalise your cardio routine.

Stop Running Flat

A lot of cardio trainers just get bored running around in circles as they don't feel like they are getting enough of a challenge. Take a look around your local area and look for some hills or small hiking trails that you could use to include inclines into your cario.

Combination Is Key

So you've just run for 15 minutes? Great - now jump on the bike and do another 15. Once that's finished - back on to the running track you go. While it may just seem like cardio to you, the change in scenery, pace and method keep your brain active, focused and on task.

Start. Stop. Start.

The tried and true method for stopping and starting your cardio workouts is a great technique to keep your body on it's toes - literally. If you're looking for a way to combine all of these tips,  grab a bike, take it for a ride to a hiking trail, then run up and down. The great benefit to hiking trails over running paths is that they usually have sharp turns and up and down inclines. These are a great way to keep you on edge, and stop you from just mindlessly running.
