If you’re a runner, swimmer, cycler, or an athlete who participates in a similar sport or physical activity, you know that you need to endure through a lot in order to perform well. Still, if you feel that you could use a bit of help in order to boost your stamina and increase your endurance, you should follow the tips mentioned in this post!

How to Increase Your Endurance

Be Healthy

Your health habits have a lot to do with what you’re able to endure and put up with in a training session. Needless to say, if you smoke, eat poorly, sleep badly, etc., you won’t be able to perform as well, so stay healthy to get better.

Breathe Correctly

You may not think too much of it, but your breathing is a very important factor in your performance. Breathe in through your nose, exhale through your mouth, and make sure to match your rhythm to your movements so you can be more effective.

Add Cardio, Strength and Plyo to Your Training

If you’re working on improving your endurance, you should be doing cardio, strength training, and even some plyometrics. By doing so, and engaging your whole body while you’re at it, you’ll be able to get your heart rate up, which will help you become better and more resistant.

Rest Less

Stamina is all about being able to endure a tiring physical activity for longer periods of time, which means that if you want to improve it, you need to push yourself harder each time. To do this, try taking less breaks when you’re training in order to progress a little bit more every time.

Keep It Interesting

There comes a time in which your body gets used to and is no longer benefitted by the movements in your routine. This is why you should change it up every couple of weeks to keep pushing yourself and continue getting stronger.
