Everyone has experienced a muscle cramp, as the muscle tissues involuntarily contract which can last from only a few seconds to several minutes. In sports, muscle cramps are relatively common, however, they can get in the way of a prefect training and competition and jeopardize all your efforts. Hydration is Crucial

Fluid loss accounts for most of muscle cramps and the answer to this problem is very simple: drink more water. Take a Rest

Remember that allowing your body to rest and cool down after a workout is very important, so you shouldn’t exceed your limits. In case of a muscle cramp, you can massage the muscle to help it relax and applying ice can also ease the pain. 

Other Measures

The easiest way to prevent muscle cramps is stretching before your training, this way your muscles will be prepared. Also, consuming sodium and magnesium supplements can improve muscle performance or you can include in your diet healthy foods such as nuts and quinoa. 

Muscle cramps can involve a single muscle or several group of muscles and they can have different causes. Keep in mind that they can point to an overuse injury, so don’t forget to allow your body to rest after a demanding workout.
